- “Bring Creativity to the Front Burner of your Life”
- With: Katherine Q. Revoir
- Does your inner-critic occupy ALL the real estate in your mind?
- Are you unable to live your dreams because your DOG ate them?
- Would you like to make your life a fountain of creative self-expression?
Join us for a "playshop" where we will use humorous cartoons and right-brained activities to help you integrate your unique self-expression with your relationships and your work. If you want to develop your creative spark, or if you're already self-expressive and want to nurture your creativity to the next level, this is a fun and interactive opportunity. Play exercises (plexercises) are used to facilitate introspection, access inner guidance, and remind you that you're already creative!

Review of this program:
In this highly interactive and playful "playshop," we got right into a fun project of making something out of a pipe cleaner. One of Katherine's most useful tools is using the right brain to access imagination, intuition, & spontaneous creative thinking. Our left brain governs most of our thinking, pushing for practical & analytical problem solving, but if we give it something to do that it doesn't want to do, or thinks it can't do, it will back off, allowing the more creative right brain to come forward. Many of us don't feel we're as creative as we'd like to be, but we all wrote a "very unique" fairy tale in five minutes, & one person even unearthed an old dream of writing a book.
Katherine has recently published a book, "Spiritual Doodles & Mental Leapfrogs: A Playbook for Unleashing Spiritual Self-Expression." In the book she offers many play exercises (plexercises) for tapping into our inner guidance & innate creativity.
Here's an example: You have an important question & you're not sure about the answer. Write the question on a piece of paper. Now, ask your right brain to advise you by answering the question with your non-dominant hand. Your left brain does not like you to use your non-dominant hand, because it's just not practical, & it doesn't do it well. So it will retreat, but not before planting little voices in your mind like, "Don't do this, you don't know how to use your non-dominant hand, don't you feel stupid?" The key is to ignore the little voices, & get out of your own way by just letting your pen do the writing, without judging, controlling, or allowing the left brain to take over. Often the results are helpful & a pleasant surprise.
Katherine's playshop was fun and insightful. She lives in Mill Valley & works as a spiritual counselor, speaker, author, workshop leader & teacher. More information about workshops, classes, and purchasing her book can be found at her website at www.SpiritualDoodles.com
