- “Men, Women & Twenty-First Century Relationships”
- With: Marty Friedman, founder of Men in Marriage
- What will help you and a mate stay together for the long haul in the “brave new world” of 21 st Century relationships?
- Do men still want things “easy” in relationships—and can they get their expectations met?
- Women have changed a lot in the last thirty years—have men “updated their files, too”?
- What does commitment mean today—and what should you be committed to in a long-term relationship?
Relationships between men and women have changed a lot in the past forty years. Will love relationships become even more “disposable”, like so many other things in our society? Or, is there another approach to relationships that’s more suited to the 21 st Century? Learn how men can look at relationships in a new way, and how women can update their understanding of men’s needs in a relationship. We will uncover the mysteries of men’s “commitment issues”, women’s criticism, power struggles, and divorce as we track the evolution of relationships through the late 20 th and early 21 st Centuries.
Come and participate in a stimulating, fun and interactive session on November 12, with Marty Friedman, author of “Straight Talk With Men About Marriage”. Marty received rave reviews the last time he was with us, when he talked about men’s and women’s “double vision” of relationships.
Marty Friedman is the founder of Men in Marriage, a consulting and seminar company that helps men and women learn how to make long-term relationships and marriages work. He is the author of “Straight Talk with Men about Marriage”, to be published in January, 2005 by Little Moose Press. Advance copies of the book will be available for this evening. Marty spent more than twenty five years as a management consultant, teaching communication skills to Fortune 1000 managers, before tackling male/female relationship issues. His background includes 22 years of marriage, nearly 30 years devoted to the practice of Siddha Yoga, and extensive research, writing and teaching about the history and practice of marriage. Marty’s work points the way toward a new model for 21 st Century relationships. He currently lives with his wife of 22 years and two of their three children in Palo Alto.
